Overview
Ever wonder how professional editors keep a player centered in those smooth, full-screen vertical videos?
The answer is object tracking.
Player ID brings powerful object tracking to mobile—making it easy to keep the player, ball, or action in focus throughout your clip.
Getting Started
- Import your video clip into a project
- Select the clip on the canvas or timeline
- Tap Track from the bottom toolbar
Tracking an Object
- Position the tracking box over the player, ball, puck, or object
- Tap Start Tracking
- The system will begin tracking automatically
Refining Your Tracking
Tracking is automatic, but you can step in at any time:
- Pause tracking to reposition the tracking box
- Switch what you’re tracking (e.g., player → ball)
- Adjust the target if tracking drifts
Retracking a Section
You can fix specific parts of your clip:
- Move the playhead to the point where tracking needs correction
- Reposition the tracking box
- Tap Resume from Here
Tracking will continue from that point forward.
Finishing Up
Once tracking is complete:
- Exit the tracking tool
- Frame your video as desired
Your subject will stay centered on screen as the clip plays.
What You’ll See
- A tracking box that follows your selected object
- Smooth movement that keeps your subject in frame
- Real-time updates as tracking progresses
Important Notes
- Tracking works best with clear, visible subjects
- Fast movement or obstructions may require manual adjustments
- You can retrack any part of your clip at any time
